Basically with this HU you can listen to all CDs except those who have mp3 or wma files on it. It only plays CD-Audio.

However this doesn't mean it can play MP3s/WMAs. Sorry!
but CDs that i burn are from WMA/MP3....... i use Windows media player and if i use that does it burn it on like a normal CD (ie recorded rather than files) Is that ok for that Alpine head unit?
Yup you can play discs that you created in Windows Media Player since they are converted back in to the normal "audio-CD" format even though they are burnt on CD-R/RWs discs, but this head-unit supports that so it'll be fine. Just not MP3/WMA like n3oNx said. :P

You can use any program you want, the only restriction is that you record a Audio-CD. Nothing more. ;)

I've got the price for the one second option. You know the price depends on weight. Mine fitted in the one with 1-5kg or something. Tenner?

Well it did say immediate, but around 3days was quite fast in my opinion. :P

A beginner to ICE here!
Just got my R Reg 98 Polo 1.4CL (btw is mine a 9n or a 6n) a few months ago... thinking of installing 2 speakers in the back.

I have the standard Sony XR-3759 HU in my car... anyone know the output specs on this?
I want to hook up 2 100W speakers... if I dont plan on blasting them out loud... would they run ok on my HU?

your car is a 6n.
i would imagine its 4x45W or 4x50W

100W speakers are fine, they will run off the HU ok.
welcome to the forum btw! :D

Cool... I've seen a Sony manual for a similar stereo but it looks like an older/lesser model. It says its a 4x35W system.
Lets say worst case that my HU is 4x35W... would it still be ok running these 100Ws on it?

personally im a fan of sony! i like their headunits, mind i love the alpine components, thats what i have running on an alpine amp in my motor.

sony hu's are very easy to use i find. simple +10 to -10 bass, treble and sub controls...then i have the 7 band equaliser which just fine tunes your personal sound.
