Whats the record on most BHP from a 1.4CL Polo?
Is it worth spending loads of money to get a max power from it?

all i can say is why bother,

save your money and buy a better car full stop, because its not just the engine you will be needin to mod gotta look at brakes and suspension too.

Plus always remember power is nothing without torque!!

save up and get a mk5 gti means you get all the nice toys and bits too 8)

The furthest you'd want to go with a 60hp engine is about 100+ hp. That makes it obsolete, really - I'd get a better car too. The foundation just isn't there.

On a 60hp? I've heard of/seen one which had 110hp, IIRC. Didn't say how long it lasted.

Seems silly

when you could buy a 1.4 16v lump for around 400 quid, which would fit straight in an would give about 100+ bhp

My point exactly. Much better base to work with too.

Possibly a 1.6 16v for a further 25bhp. The wifes Golf mk4 1.6 16v is quite nippy and weighs about the same as a challenger tank. should be quick enough.
