Airbag?

What is the deal with the side airbag in the seats? Is there anything that should/shouldnt be dont when unplugin? I have heard stories in the past but if I unplug it do I need it reset by VW? I havent had much help on this http://www.tigerstyle.co.uk/poloforum/v ... 08e30bf5d8

Well still no help folks!? I really need to take the seat out does anyone not know anything about this sort of thing? Will I need the airbags reset after I have unpluged them?

Please help someone, doing it on Sunday!

The workshop manual (from erWin) I have says that you need one of two special tools to remove the airbag connections -- VAS 5094 or VAS 5232/1. If I were you, I'd leave it be, or like pettsy suggested, ask your dealer.

easy peasy

take your key out of the ignition just unplug your airbag connector under the seat remove your seat do waht u got to do then just replug it a long as you dont turn the ignition on the airbag system wont do a self check and realisewhoops im missing one and bring the warning light on
if your going to remove the seat for bucket types you need to put a resistor in to the connector thats how the airbag system is tested by the ecu by measuring the resistance in the circuit
if you do get a fault upjust go to your local garage if they have something like a snap on scanner they can turn the light off for you
oh and i dont know what value resistor u need just get some one very brave to put a ohmn meter on the airbag contacts and match it to a suitable resistor
