my airbox does have some oil around, and the end of the throttle body is quite oily as well as the base underneath the original air filter. I dont know if this is meant 2 be like this. it has a thin coat of oil, like its lubricated. Is the throttle body end meant to be like this as well as the airbox??? i was wondering this actually, but i didnt wipe if off with a cloth.
with regards to the breather pipe. can i leave it connected on the original airbox and leave the new induction kit filter to filter air for both, as i assume the current airbox does the same.
Also cold air! the the plastic thing fitted into the wing will be relatively close to the airfilter. Should this be okay in terms of providing sufficient air. As i believe i wont need an additional air pipe. I will disconnect the exhaust manifold and leave it open thou.
Rubber pipe on airbox??

1. for the cold air thingy, it is probably enough, but remember, the more cold air you can get, the better
as simple as that.
2. Leaving the airbreather in the airbox should be ok as well. Every airbox of any Polo I saw had some oil near the air breather. That is ok. You need to worry only if there is a terrible amount of oil. Regarding that thin coat of oil, I believe even mine had before I changed it, but I cannot guarantee you
