Central Locking Pump - Harness Pinout??

Post by inder »

Hi,

Im trying to splice in a remote central locking kit, and thought the best place to get connected to the cars wiring would be on the harness that connects to the central locking pump in the boot - thing is i can't work out which wire does what, anyone have a pinout for it??

Wiring on harness is as follows, each pin is numbered as: [VW POLO 1.4, W - 2000]

1 - Red/White (thick wire)
2 - Red/White (thick wire)
3 - Brown (thick wire)
4 - Red
5 -
6 -
7 - Yellow/White (with a small Black Stripe at end)
8 - Brown (thick wire)
9 -
10 - Green/White
11 - Yellow/White
12 - Black

The central locking kit is the '6139' by Gemini and has (colours they use in brackets):

Earth (Brown)
Battery +ve (Red and White/Red)
Ignition Live (Yellow)
Direction Lights (Orange)
Positive Alarm Armed (Pink)
Central Door Locking Control (Yellow/Grey, Red/Grey)
Common for Door Locking Signal (Yellow/Red)

Thanks in advance for any help or advice! :D

Thanks m8

Thing is I don't wish to have it running off an alarm at this stage, I know that could be the best route etc... (car has no alarm, has coded key immobiliser) but the kit I have just converts the key lock into remote with a nice small button for your keyring

Im taking the door card off tomorrow for something else, so may try see the current wiring to find out which wire is the 'open' signal and which is 'close' etc... somehow hehe

Thanks

Hi, im trying to fit a remote keyless entry kit as well. I was told that the central locking pump harness is the best place for this. Correct me if im wrong but you need 12v power, earth, and + close lock and -open lock wires to make it work. (something like that anyway) trouble is the wires which is which. let us know or post a message here if u figure out what each wire is on the central locking pump harness.

i havent bothered yet :( but i am told that an extended negative pulse has to be used, which means hooking the wires up to the wires behind the glovebox!!!

I gave up splicing in too, too many colours to work out what and im impatient lol

So I installed a Votex remote unlocking kit, that also does the flashers with autoclosure 8)

check: http://www.vagparts.com/pages/MK3Golf.htm

http://www.vagparts.com

in the mk3 Golf section under electrical the kit listed there will fit the polo price £89.85 +vat UK shipping £7.19 at the time

really easy, simply clips in-between the pump and factory wire loom/harness, then put the aerial lead across boot and add the optionial flasher wires in, easy to find the colours on the rear clusters, but splicing the cable in was fiddly, not much factory cable to play with, but possible and works fab

hope helps
