Can i get away with it or not?

Post by ads »

My mk4 is currently running on 16's with 195/45/16 tyres with a 35mm drop. however i have decided this is not enough and im gunna drop it 60mm (same tyres and wheels)

So the question is... Can i get away with a 60mm drop on 195/45/16's without any arch mods??

If not then does anyone know of any decent places to get the arches rolled and paint touched up in the South West UK please.

Hi Ads,

Welcome! :D

To your question; I'm pretty sure you won't get away with those tyres and that kind of drop. They're just too high, to be honest. My guess is that rolling of the arches is the minimum you're facing.

Good luck.

Hey.

Damn thats a shame i was hopeing to get away with it :( never mind.

If i get the arches rolled do u recon it would also be a good idea to remove the liners? Also i know on some cars the paint cracks does this happen on the polos? and if so can i get away with just touching it up or is it a complete respray job? :(

if the paint is heated(not burned however) then the paint tends not to crack but there is still a risk of it cracking

I had a set of low 40mm drop suspention (was definatly lower than 40 mm but that's what they were called) and 195/45/16 scrubbed a lot even on flat smooth roads. Had to fit coilovers 8)
