I take it my battery is dead...

Post by 13twelve »

This morn jumps into the car and tries to start it.

To be greated by a clicking noise and my dashboard lights proper manically flicking on and off (oh and the speedo rising on its own)

The battery wouldnt charge that well from a charger, but with the help of some bin men who gave me a push, the car got going.

Parked it up at work and it now wont start again...

So I'm guessing my battery has died?

sound about right?

I'd go with that provided you have checked that the alternator is charging - ie no red light on the dash flickering

Ahhh - well I reckon that your alternator might be failing rather than the battery goosed. On the other hand it may be that the battery won't accept the charge but I'd get it checked out before you spend any money on either.
