headgasket quicky question

ive just brought my new head gasket for the 1300 breadvan from ecp..other gaskets ive replaced have TOP printed on one side, the new one has no markings except a number stamped into one side

anyone know if theyre sided?? please only answer if you KNOW for sure, i cant afford mistakes

yes they are sided there should be an oval looking hole this sit's on the bottom left hand side (you standing in front of the car) the alternator mounting side

It will only fit on 1 way round.

okay ive fitted it now...not totaly convinced its cured the leak 100% , i can see a very very slight trace of oil on the edge of the head ..im hoping its a drip ran down from somwhere ive spilled a drop

seems to go a bit better now though...old gasket wasnt too bad, the head was slightly starting to corode near the oil drain in the front corner so i cleaned it all up well

no bore wear at 146k...and very little carbon
