2 hours a bit extreme??

to wash n polish the car

after all the dodgy comments and remarks from neighbours n ppl walking by, just wondering what you guys (n gals!)reckon?

Sounds alright for a really good wash and polish. Managed to spend half an hour today just polishing my bonnet and roof, and didn't even do a very good job of it..

Yeah couple of hours sounds good. Then you can get some silicone spray for the tyres, some glass polish, some back-to-black for any plastic bits, a bit of alloy wheel cleaner... hehe

depends how good a job you do!

If it's an overly quick, careless soap/wipe/hose like my mum does (leaving nice streaks of dust/dirt that she hasn't even touched on the boot, doors, bumpers..), 10-15 minutes should do it.

A decent all over clean making sure the muck actually comes off, i'd allow more like 20-30. And even then i've been unhappy with the outcome.

All else is extra - chamois, polish, wax, T-cut, wheel scrubbing (esp if alloys), etc.

2 hours seems about the length of time I had to allow for cleaning the polo when i was in halls, in winter..... no hosepipe, so I had to keep filling a bucket (using a jug) with hot water from the kitchen (or, the toilets in the canteen block if unable to get a decent parking space), ferrying it outside, doing what could be done until it got freezing cold (not a cold day, but windchill!) and repeating......

Took all day to give it the initial inside & out clean, vac, wash, T-cut, polish, with a 3 person crew, when I first bought it...

I use Zymol "Vinyl" to do the interior plastics.

I also use it in my engine bay on the plastics and rubber hoses.
