The instructions of the kit are quite general as shown below:
I need to follow the air compressor wiring guidelines. However what i dont understand mainly is that it requires +12v power through the red thick wire as circled then in the wires for the central locking, there is another +12v yellow / black wire. the Red wire has a blade fuse the other doesnt.
Im gonna wire the red 12v wire to the ignition harness where constant power is avialiable. however there is another 12v wire. Does this also go in the 12v ignition or does this one go in the c/l pump or somewhere else??? earth wires i will find a spare chassis bolt to bolt these on as it says -12v or ground am i right to do this??
Next is the common line as shown in the diagram. i need to cut through the wire and connect to different wires to each end to make it work. which wire is the common wire in the c/l pump. i beleive it should come from the drivers door.
i have wires in my c/l pump harness as follows in the same number ports:
1. thick red/white wire
3. thick brown
4. thin black/red
7. thin grey/red
8. thick brown (same looking as no. 3)
10. thin black/grey
If any1 can help me i would really appreciate this. I dont have a haynes, so if this information is in a haynes would it be possible for some1 to let me know as i dont wanna buy a haynes just 4 this.
My assumption is that the black/grey thin wire (10) is the common line. but not too sure, any ways i can check this???? oh by the way its an 8v Polo 1.4 1997 R reg model with factory fitted pneumatic central locking. cheers
