Will a 2000 Polo GTI Grill fit on a 2000 1.4 ?

Post by PhilGTi »

I just ordered a front GTI grill for my polo, and was wondering if its going to fit? I know i should have probably asked this before I ordered it but its not too expensive so I thought what the hey!

Before you say GTI wannabe, i wont be putting the GTI badge on the grill and am only buying it because it looks sexy, not because i want to look like a GTI. Any response will be much appretiated!

I got them from the local dealership, a steal at 28.80 including VAT. I almost dropped the phone when he told me! I phoned another garage just to check he wasnt mistaken, they are coming on Thursday morning so ill take some snaps then.

I just bought a 36" TV for my room, just before i got the car, god damn it! I wish id saved the money now. I gotta save to buy stuff as im only a student. Look out for more mods, slowly.

Yeah, i know a bit silly but I had some money spare, mainly off ebay wheeling and dealing! Thought id treat myself seeing as I didnt have anything else to spend it on.

Know the plastic bits that hold the wing mirrors on... do you think they'd look silly colour coded, just they are the only bit that aint, and wouldnt cost too much to have them done. Just a thought!

Having the frong splitter, rear spoiler sprayed so might as well have them done while im on. Not think??

YES/NO? Lemme no!

Here is a taster of what it "should look like". Photoshopped the grill onto it...

looks the part for sure, doing the bottom ones or leaving them as normal?

I think i might go for this... but then would be loosing the current silver colour coded grille hmm, but would set it apart :?

Yeah same, my current grille is colour coded, but the GTI one is only 28.80 so im going to try and sell the standard one on ebay, shud beable to get 20-30 quid for it....

Im going todo the bottoms ones too, eventually. Future plans include:

Front GTI splitter
Front Spot Lights
Rear Spoiler
ECU reprogram to 102bhp
Drilled & Grooved Disks
Light Blue Merc Style Tints

Not sure yet. Its a 60/65bhp 1.4 engine "sadface". Do you know anywhere that does it? I might email awesome-gti and ask them for some guidence! I really need a bit more power, its alright the way it is but who wants alright?

A wolf in sheeps clothing is what i want, my dad has a 05 reg Audi A4 3.0 V6 S-line, all of the badges are removed and when we pull up at the lights loads of cars try and race it. So much fun, he can just play with them.

Cant wait til my insurance premium goes down so i can get a decent sized engine... this 1.4 is okay for the moment...
