tuning, old skool style

Post by cappuccinocruiser »

Ok, I've got a 1.3 coupe s mk2.

I want to keep the theme pretty old skool, so was looking into tuning the stock lump, and detail it.

There is a local engine builder, that I can have balance and lighten the flywheel, crank and rods, so that is sorted.

Head, I'm after fast road, was looking at stock valves, but some mild porting and match ported inlet and exhaust (I can do this myself)

Are there any old skool twin carb setups about? I'm sure I've seen 1300's on twin DCNF's, if not I'll probably go for a weber replacment for the Pierburg.

Cams, what cam's are out there?

Thanks for your help.

You can go for twin 40 dcoe's, a manifold is available. You could get a pretty mad cam, theres loads of makes and specs out there ranging from mild road to race. If you get a wild cam its prob worth flowing the head quite a lot and fitting solid lifters, if your getting the bottom end lightened and balanced.
