Hey Guys, Just wondering if anyone know about the laws of removing the spare wheel. I have just fitted 18s on my car and took out my 5th alloy from the back. Now it is empty and really tempted to put a 15 or 18 sub in that compartment. LOL
What are tyre sealants like? and are they bad because apparantly i have they cause imbalancing on the tyres when rolling at high speeds.
I know that the new Mini Coopers and 206CCs have no spare wheels.
I have VW breakdown cover too.....
Anyone got any suggestions on what I should do?
Sorry about the pictures... hopefully will be up soon.

Spot on. I have a space-saver which came as standard. Can't see it saving me much weight if it comes out so it can stay where it is, just in caseAndrew B wrote:Funnily enough I just removed my spare tyre, anything to save weight, as far as I know, it is not illegal in the UK to bin the spare, however it is illegal to have a spare with tread below the legal limit ???

Smarts don't have spare wheelsWai_Mak wrote:Hey Guys, Just wondering if anyone know about the laws of removing the spare wheel. I have just fitted 18s on my car and took out my 5th alloy from the back. Now it is empty and really tempted to put a 15 or 18 sub in that compartment. LOL
NOT illegal not to have one but if you have one it must be legal if you see what I mean - sub would go nicely in there and then you get to keep a usable boot

Ha, you have sussed my cunning plan, going to make a baffle out of mdf, seal it with a rubber gasket and clamp it in place, should have quite a decent air volume in that space, and still have a boot.bstardchild wrote:Smarts don't have spare wheelsWai_Mak wrote:Hey Guys, Just wondering if anyone know about the laws of removing the spare wheel.
