welcome to the forum, as for insurance, its hard to say because every one has different rates, on where abouts in the city u live etc.. just quote around a few companies, ull find a range of prices.... a quick guess would be around £1500

Kylamis, best bet is on ebay, as VW may charge ££££ :)

I got a red 1996 1.0l 6n for my first car too.
I insured it when i was 17 for just over £700 (third party) with Norwich Union but i done pass plus aswell which knocked loads off my premium! Your premium will probably be more as you live in London compared to me living in Berkshire but probably not that much.

Hey Welcome to the site and great choice of car! :D

Just wondering how much did you get your Polo for? When I was looking for a car I found a 1.0L which was more than my 1.4CL
I thought... hell I might aswell just get the CL... and did :)

have you tried Elephant.co.uk? They have this 10 month bonus accelerator thing which gets you your no claims quicker... but bare in mind that you're only getting 10months cover for the quote they give you.

As for mods... theres a list somewhere on mods from which to get done first (think it was ordered almost by cost). Mods like taking debadging, taking off the black plastic strip on the doors (replacing them with the MKV) strip and also replacing door handles with MKV ones.
