Sideskirts

Hi all, i've been reading this forum for weeks now and found it really usefull. This is my first post and would like to say hi to all!

Just got myself a 1.4 8v 3dr match a/c, and am looking to make a few mods to it, now ive got some cash. Ordered myself some gti alloys from montyswheelsandtyres.com so should be getting them soon, already got some spots fitted, got the dealer to put them on as part of the sale They tried to tell me it would be too expensive cos they would have to take the front bumper off and do all the wiring, they're full of s**t aren't they

Looking at some sideskirts next. Have had a phone around and i figured out you can't get them as a standard part because on the gti's its part of the front wing. Does anyone have, or know of any sideskirts as close to standard as possible. Don't like anything OTT, just want the gti look.

Can the gti/se skirts be modified to fit a normal polo???

Also anyone know of any mods to improve the interior? Seen some pics of a gti dash and it seems to have a 3rd dial, anyone done this mod??

First of all, nice job getting the GTi alloys, i couldnt find them anywhere for a reasonable price! The VW dealership quoted me £1700 with tyres lol, so i went for some RS4 replicas, pretty please with it anyways as i dont see any the same.

If i where you i would get it slammed with some eibach springs soon as your wheels come, it will make a world of difference. So far with my polo i have done the following:

* 17" RS4 Wheels
* Full GTi Grill set with Spots
* Painted Front Calipers Red
* Lowered 30mm on Eibach
* Debadged all

Future plans include:

* Front GTi Splitter
* Rear Spoiler
* Wing Mirror Fixture Colour Coding
* Drilled and Grooved Disks

If anyone knows where i can get the front disks from that would be fab! Also, does anyone make a quick shift for the Polo 1.4 8v? Ive heard they do one for the gti but not the standard models.

Welcome to the site! Sounds like you got some good plans in the pipeline and as far as side skirts are concerned i would say the nearest you would get to the GTI ones are the ones produced by hofele

Mine is somwhere between the two as you can see from my picture.... Personally I didn't like the GTi grill.

JWC, i really like the look of your car! However, i think that your car would look sick with different alloys, maybe bigger ones or just 16's slammed 50mm. I just dont think those ones do it justice!

This is just my opinion however so please ignore if you disagree!

Polo Silver don't think i'm gonna get mine lowered, gonna see how it handles with the bigger wheels on. Putting them on on Thurs If anything i'm gonna get new coilovers, maybee i'll end up lowering it a teenie weenie bit I've got similar future plans to you, gonna get a colourcoded gti splitter and rear spoiler.

JWC i'm of the same opionion as you, don't know if i like the gti grill or not. Can't decide. Think i'd get one if my car was black. I'm gonna stick with the one i've got, might sneak a 16v badge on there tho (who's gonna know i aint really got 100bhp )

I think i've found some nice sideskirts anyways, there actually a VW extra made by Votex, bit Pricey tho at £200. Would probably have been cheaper to buy a gti in the first place with all these mods, neways its all good fun

By the way JWC are you happy with the xeion lights, whatever they're called. What difference do they make?
