Tyre recommendations?

It's crunch time, and I'm absolutely baffled. All I want is a set of four 165/65r13's that aren't going to kill me on the first wet corner but aren't going to sap me of every last penny of my savings, and I don't have a clue what to go for.
A few particulars I've been looking into:
Ceat Spider - fairly cheap, sounds like a perfectly reasonable mid range tyre but can't really find any reviews on it
Colway CMT (remould) - I'm perfectly happy with remould tyres, technology's come on a long way and we've been running remoulds for as long as I can remember on our 4x4s, but are the road tyres actually any good? Or are they just budget spec?

Or any other recommendations of a good value for money, mid range tyre that won't turn around and bite my arm off the moment I hit a corner in the wet at more than walking pace? (Bad experience of Arrowspeed 145r13

Wet weather perfomance can't do better than one of these (or even four)

Thanks for the pointer, they look good - right price range and decent reviews, might just have to go for them. Any one else want to put something on the table?

Matt with the black mk2 coupe has just got some uniroyals, yesterday it was chucking it down with rain and he had bags more grip than i ever have with the sport contacts and i rate them.

I know what my next purchase will be (if they make em in 185/50/14 ofcourse)

Tad on the small side for a quattro aren't they

yea 215/50/15's for them..so even more expense. Just glad i don't have an LC.

Ordered a set of uniroyals from etyres - Â£167 including fitting and balancing, could be worse. Lets hope these ones don't scrub

Lots of money down the drain if they do..

Just had a call from etyres saying they're having trouble getting hold of the uniroyals, but if they can't get them by the end of the week then I can have a set of pirelli P3000's for the same price. These any good? I've told them I'll hang on for the uniroyals for now, but I may need to change if they can't get them.

Uniroyals have just been fitted, going to take them for a test drive in a moment. They look.. tiny. Shouldn't have any problems clearing the arches, but I think I'm going to need to watch that I don't kerb the wheels now..

They can run a little harder than std pressures - very soft tyrewalls

Ok, I'll bear that in mind

I'm impressed with them so far.. only done about 14 miles so they haven't worn in yet, but they already feel very grippy. I'm hoping for a rainy day soon so I can see whether they live up to their wet weather reputation..
