smc343 - sells off old stock Unipart components reasonably cheaply. Often has odd VW bits like clutches, alternators etc. Obviously there isn't much of a demand for them because I was the only bidder and I got it for the starting price of £19.99 + p&p.
Did the majority of the change myself, had to get my dad to give me a hand manouvering the box into place once I'd replaced the clutch, as it's a heavy bugger to lift and manouver into place by yourself. Got a damn good workout trying to do so though. If only my trolley jack hadn't buckled

Stupid cheap tools.
If the pedal's still really heavy, are you sure you've not just got it adjusted too tight? That's the thing that makes it heavy, having to push the pressure plate springs in further than you really need to. I think that's also the reason that my release bearing and spring fingers were worn so badly, the fact that I'd adjusted it much further in than I should have done.
I'd write an FAQ, but I followed amstrange's FAQ on porka so I don't think there's much of a market for a copy

Only things I'd add to his FAQ are that removing the ARB may be necessary depending on how good you are at angling the box, and it's useful to have a helper to remove and refit the box as you do need to manouver it a bit to get the driveshaft flange past the flywheel.
