Mk 4 Headunit help.

Post by urz »

(I searched for this and couldn't really find what i was looking for)

When ever i take the keys out of the ignition the headunit forgets all the presets and spits the cd when i put the key in the ignition. It is obviously not wired correctly, does any know how to over come this?

Thanks.

if it's an aftermarket head unit you need an adaptor loom available from Halfords and other motoring store's HTH

Thanks. I just brought one but one end of the iso doesn't fit into the cd player (sony). Do i need another lead that comes from the cd player and fits into the iso?

I believe all you need to do is switch over the 12v permanent and the 12v ignition wires. It's what I had to do in mine, I think it's just a VW thing that they have to be awkward and reverse a bit of their wiring.

^ Radio wiring diagram, very, very useful. You want to swap over wires L and O.
