Well after passing my test i bought a nova and crashed it which i'm sure a few people will be pleased to hear! so i got my self a little fiesta which was meant to be temporary but i've had it for 8 month now.
So i fancy a polo Mk 5, i've always liked them but could never afford one, i want the 1.4 16v, or i could go for the Mk 4 with the same engine, thing is i dont know much, which is the better car? Anyone got any performance figures? i'm 20 with 1 years no claims and i've got myself 5 points.
Just got a quote at 996 tpft and 1300 fully comp. Can anyone recommend any insurers? that quote was from Budget.

welcome to the forum! (i see its your first post
)
well aslong as you weren't hurt when you crashed the nova then thats ok!
regarding the polo you are looking for, i would personally go for the 1.4 16v mk5 (6n2) bit newer than mk4 (if thats your thing) and most probably abit punchier through the gears.
as for insurance, i myself am with the coop (i work for them in a supermarket aswell and it sucks to say the least!), and i pay 495 quid a year 3rd party with 1 years no claims, i'd ideally want fully-comp though!
i'd wait until everyones posted their opinion then sleep on the thoughts.
good luck in buying your polo!

thanx i was ok! i do like the 6n2 better the front end is a lot meaner looking. I'm guessin the 6n and the 6n2 1.4 16v engines are different if it's punchier or am i wrong? What models is there in the 1.4 16v? I've got big plans if i do get one, i'm not into daft bodykits, i kind of like the idea of the audi rs wheels. does the 16v have clear front lights or do they all have them?

well im not sure on the difference in figures myself or the different models available (best ask someone else!) but it would be a newer engine so i would expect it to have better power (only slightly mind)
yeah the polo dont need all these jap bodykits you can get for other cars, the mk5 bumpers are actually quite chunky standard, especially the rear.
yeah alot of people like the audi rs4 wheels, although the rs6 are quite nice and shiney too.
the front lights are all the same (i take it that you are talking about the headlights?) except for the Gti, which has a completely different Hid unit and xenon bulbs.

Alright mate,
I've got a 1.4 16v Mk5 and it's a wicked car. Performance wise it it pretty much the same as the Mk4 (6N) but it's a newer Audi built engine so is more economical than its Mk4 equivalent. Performance wise the most common is the 75bhp model, however there are some '16v' trim level ones which are 100bhp as standard. This is the same engine the GTi uses but is not bored out to 1.6...
