blown speakers, i think

hy guys, i think ive blown my speakers but not to sure, it could be a blown fuse or a lose wire or something , Whats happened is i had my music real loud stopped top go shop got out car (cd player obviously turned off ) went shop came back got in and my cd player turned on was playing but i coildnt hear nething wat so ever, ! any one know why ?

have you gone deaf?! :D

anyhow, it would seem VERY odd that you've blown both sets of speakers and tweeters.

so perhaps its the HU. see if the output connector at the back is plugged in correctly.

then it's down to getting another HU to test it all, or taking the speakers out to test on another car.....

I think it's the HU output tho

or may have hit the mute button or the INT OFF or something :?: its called on Alpine HUs

It could be something nothing serious at all. Check if you have any short circuit, because if your HU is not very old, if the -ve speaker output touches the +ve, instead of blowing everything, the HU just cuts off the power. I saw this happening on 2 cars so could be the case that it happened for you as well.

yeah cheers for all the help lads, pretty embarasing but il admit it anyway, i had the balance and out put of the speakers all to the left (ever tried finding the right trak while going 75mph along very bendy country roads) so fiddled around with it for about ten mins and got it all back balnced and set up correctly ! :oops:

good good, it didnt sound too serious cus the HU was still happily working away :P
