Help*****Polo Mk4 1.3 L mods

Post by mango »

Hi all

I have recently purchased a 1995 polo mk4 1.3. I was wondering if any one could help. I want to know weather it is worth fitting an Induction Kit and exhaust system or am i wasting my time, would and engine swap be better, i used to have a 2.0 Golf gti in a VW caddy Body in south africa and it was awesome. What engines would fit in besides the G40 and with minamal modification.

Thanks

a 1.4 16v should go in quite easily! but your better off with the G40 engine, they sound really nice! 8) and go like poo off a well greased shovel!

any engine swap will be quite hard, so why not throw a 1.8 20V Turbo in!

Yeah that seems to be about the best i have found out. Where can i look for re-condition ed engines, i would probably need a good gearbox too, any recommendations.

If your considering getting a MK4 16V engine in there, you might aswell sell your 1.3 and buy the valver....

it will be cheaper that way and less hassle.... Plus you will get all the added perks of having a Valver (e.g. sports seats... bigger brakes... and better suspension)

I say you go for a 1.6 GTI (POLO) engine.... easy to get in the MK4 (unlike the 1.8T).... and it'll still give you a good power to weight ratio
