My 1043cc mk2 took over 20 seconds at inters (timer gave up after 20  ), so I wouldn't be suprised at all ;)

apparently the acceleration of the 895 isnt so bad, cuz its so featherweight even compared to a mk2... (and has crazy motorcycle gears)

probably whup the pants off a 999cc mk4 :D

Got a road round my way however that's arrow straight and at least a good 1/2 mile long, do fancy getting a photocopy of a large scale ordinance survey map from the library and marking out a 1/4 mile strip accurately on it with some flags, chalk, etc. Just wide enough for 2 cars, though the surfacing / gradient might leave a *little* to be desired. (genuinely a little :D)

(...yeah, i got the idea from seeing pikeys do it... but it should be ok for solo time trials, given the amount of times i'd hared up there on the way to work or college)

me and a mate always joked that we should take our polos down the strip one day - sounds like my mk1 may have given a good show after all (compared to his knackard 1043cc mk3!!)

My Derby is suprisingly fast for what it is. Got a good old 1272 lump in it.
