Electric window packed up!!!

Hi all,
Not long owned my first car which is a 6n 1.4 cl, ive been reading some of the problems that people have had with their lecky windows and i was throughly p****d off when my drvers doors packed up tonight, just wondered if you can shed any light on the matter? ive have tried swaping the switches over but still nothing. the only noise that i can hear is a slight electrical tick coming from the door, im a bit worried that this means the motor has gone but dont want to jump to conclusions.

check your electric unit in the boot, this controls the windows and locks! mite need cleaned just!
