Post by PhilGTi »

How do get arround this?? Can you buy new rear door cards or something? I dont fancy cutting my current ones to fit speakers but its s**t with just front ones... I dont wanna fit any 6x9's or anything...

m8 ive got rears in mine! perhaps cos yours is a diff model

anyway, yes a new door card will provide you with the cutout and grille too, but im not sure the speaker wiring will be present

but prob does not matter, as you will be laying new cable from an amp or something

I think the standard speaker sizes are not 17cm and you need an adaptor thing to put aftermarket ones on

is your interior black? I get these parts numbers, check with vagparts or dealer??

left, off black, 6N3 867 043 BJ 7WP
right, off black, 6N3 867 044 BJ 7WP

loudspeaker grille x2, 3B0 868 149 C81

p.s. you want a 'side panel' rather than a rear door card, otherwise the shape will be wrong for a 3door and you will have a hole in the top for the door lock etc..

Hope helps! :)

polosilver mate,

if you want rear quarters with speaker recesses you looking into the price of around £90 per panel as i enquired about this a while back!

i went nuts one day n yes i did it - cut sum nice 6.25" hole in the panel with mdf supporting rear panel n also seperated the tweeter just inside the arm bugle bit facing rear seats.

still need to tidy them up a lil bit as the speaker grille sint quite flush yet but should look mad once finished

I'm not sure if it was just mine or if others have found this but when i installed my rear speakers there was no wiring present!

BUT its easy enough to put the wiring in place :D

Don't bother, spend the money upgrading / amping the fronts.
