ISO colour scheme, previous owner has hacked it up.

Post by stiffdonkey »

Hi.

I've just bought a polo for the mrs. Its a '99 V 1.0L.
The previous owner sold it without the radio. Ive changed stereos before using ISO connectors but there is none! He's left bare wires with screw terminals on them.

Does anyone know what each one is?

Cheers.

hi there

i have a 1998 polo which is the 6n shape im not sure if it is different for yours if you have a 6n2 anyway the wiring for mine was :-

Front left speakers are :-

Blue/brown
Blue

Front Right are :-

Red/Brown (medium thickness)
Red (thin)

Thick Red wire = Always power regardless to the postion of the ignition

Thick Brown = Ground

Thin Red/Brown wire = is the electrical terminal controlled by the ignition switch 12V On/ Off

Hope this may be of help

I worked it out using my multimeter between the wires and a door hinge!
James was spot on by the way.
