firstly the engine would be very hard to find...2ndly..its 113bhp i think standard and putting it into your car would take like a day!
It has the same engine mounts as your 1.3 8v mk4...only problem may be wiring. But i guess if you can get it in, wiring can be handed to a pro and done for like £500?
A few people have done it...welshie from porka.net had a green mk4 with G40 in, everything done to it...but he paid someone to get it put in and working.
Another guy i think on here lives up in scotland and also has a mk4 G40...but could well be a supercharger 1.4 16v G40 he's doing.
I think you should just buy a 1.6 16v GTI engine/gearbx etc and try to fit that. It fits in all the other mk4's straight up, so yours shouldn't be too hard.
I have a whole ZIP folder full of conversion photo's of doing a 1.4 16v to 1.6 16v swap but is literally 10megs.
Its courtesy of Chicofrostie aka alex from here/porka.net.

not to be intruding the thread but this sounds intresting and different and i bet it kicks out more power than the G!!supercharger 1.4 16v
is it a kit you could purchase from somewhere...or all custom.???
or just use some odd parts from the G40...is this conversion a waste of time!!! would it be better to just stick a g40 engine in, in whole???
cheers jon.

How hard is it just to add the G Charger from the G40 to a bog standard 1.3 or something else?
1.4 16v supercharged sounds immense! Someday id love to have a sleeper car - like a mk 4 polo with a 1.3 badge on the back, with a 3.2 V6 237bhp under the bonnet! That'd scare the s**t out of all the bumboyracers in their paxo vtrs!!

*1.0 badge would really rub it in!Peebo wrote:haha if this helps....ive got a 16v with all 8v lights inc...rear clusters...indicators...side repeaters...and an 8v front bumper...no badges at all!!!...lol...its a start at least eh???
jon.
as for supercharger, i think that the turbos 1.4s are more popular

heh, yeah good start jon. Now, turn it into an old-woman style polo!
put those stupid bead seat covers on, the AA badges on the grill, the christian fish thing on the back, make sure youve got some dirty steel wheels on!
Dubbprince is doing a 180bhp TT engine conversion to his 16v, thatl be immense! With a simple ECU tweak he'll be pumping out over 200 brake!
Love to see the look on boy racers and posh beemers on the motorway!
Any ideas why turbo'd 16v are more popular carmadaaron? I thought superchargers were a much better way of getting forced induction.

i got some 13s on my pol. Did i mention someone stole the o?
Is it coilovers that you can adjust? I mean - your gonna want to roll around with the biggest gap possible between your 14s with high profile tyres, and then drop the height when it comes to scaring bumboyracers!
Edit: Hey, anyone seen the original taxi film? the french one? He's got like a 406 5dr, then he presses a button and spoilers and body kits appear from behind the body work, and it actually has a ferrari engine under the bonnet! Imagine how class that would be, find some punk Nova driver, offer him a race, then when he accepts you convert your beaten up Mk4 into a f*****g Type R GTi RS3TCDRS bas*ard fu*ckin fast evil machine!!
