Conversions 6n2

Hello

Just a few question i wanted to know about -

1.4 16 75bhp (AUA Engine Code)

1. Implanting a GTi 1.6 16v engine from the mk5 GTi. How much could this cost, and whats te main components that get replaced ? If i pay someone to transplant an engine - do they take mine and its cheaper or do u get ur engine back ?

2. A 1.8t engine - I know this is the better option - but how much could this cost and whats stripped out the polo the now to accomodate this ? Roughly much ?

Just Wondering About this ..Neil.

Bump.
Am also interested in prices for both these engine transplants as i should hopefully be coming into some better money soon!

1.8T sounds mental though but im thinking it'll be around 6k fitted maybe more considering you will have to upgrade engine mounts, cooling, breaks, gearbox, speedo.....the list goes on and it all sounds alot of dollar!

imo, if u want to put the 1.6 gti lump in, y not just get a gti?

a 1.8 turbo lump would be amazing, however, you'll need very deep pockets!

I think its about the 6k mark for a 1.8T transplant and as for the 1.6 Gti transplant, i wouldn't have a clue. I'd say you may aswell buy a full car of Gti rather than just the engine.

Its a lot easier to source a 1.8T engine i'd say aswell. Plus there's an extra 100bhp to be gained from that engine.

when i priced conversions for my 1.0 litre 6n2, they were quoting me not too much under 10k for a 1.8t, and 2.5k for a g40 which is quite an easy transplant. i did not get a quote for a gti, as i would rather buy the whole car and get all the gadgets that mine does not have :p the g40 is really tempting me, jus have 2 see if ne insurance companies are mad enough to take an 18yr old with a g40 conversion

here in greece the 1,8T conversion on a golf (cos it's REEEEEEAAALLY hard to make it fit on a 6n2. 9n fits easily) costs around 6k euro. and a gti transplant on a 6n2 costs around half that.

R32 is very tightly packed into the golf, so you will have fun trying to fit it in a polo!
