hey, on the topic i was talking of earlier, like alloy wheels. would it be possible to clean up my steel wheels and spray them chrome? anyone done this? any opinions? anyone know what paint will look good? how to achieve the chrome look?

any input, pictures of people riding on steels would be nice, info on gettin chrome steels without payin ££££££, any help.

If you dont mind it being prefab and not quite "real" silver (but probably better quality and longer lasting than a home job), you could get hold of some mk4 steel wheels. Look quite unusual on an earlier car but bolt right up no problem. Very smart. Ran them myself for best part of a year and liked the look, either with or without the centre caps.

Looks very samey on a mk4 as every other one had those wheels on, but stand out between the black steels, plastic trim, and various stock / aftermarket alloys on a mk3.

(and wahey, another chance to flog those selfsame numbers, piled up and going to waste in the garage)
