How hard is it to remove the rear VW badge and paint the background part of it the same colour as the car? Ive seen it done on a few mk4s and mk5s, but i know the mk5 rear badge splits in 2 so...
anyone?

Fine string/cotton with a short length of dowel tied to each end
180 deg wrap behind the backing and saw thro the foam adhesive tape that holds it on
Push the pegs that hold the badge to the back thro to split the badge
Paint whatever bit in whatever colour - remember to prep it properly
When complete push back together and use a soldering iron to seat the ends of the pegs on the badge back over
Re-fit using trim tape cut and shaped to fit
Remember - line it up straight before you let it touch the tailgate

Thats ok, plenty of time to save up!
Planned mods, in order of importance are - Clear indicators+repeaters, bonrath debadged grill, resprayed rear badge, resprayed diffuser on the front, ATS Cups or similar deep alloys, then maybe a lil spoiler on the back and a K&N 57i Filter.
One thing about the filters - ive heard that they can lower low-down torque, even tho they increase top-end speed. Is this true? Anythin else i should look out for?
