With Scratch-X you would be there hours trying to remove sanding marks tbh.
Any suggestions on the best product for removing sanding marks by hand ??

Thanks
TBH im not sure and dont want to suggest a product that may not work in removing the sanding marks. I personally would try it without a Porter Cable.

trying to bring this post back to life here!!

I had seen these pictures a while back and figured i'd give it a lash
I have bought a paint touch-up kit containing a paint-match, laquer, and polishing compound.
I was planning to over-fill the chips and a few scratches with the paint, then sand even with 3000 grit wet sand-paper(is this just wet with water?), then polish, clean, apply lacquer, sand, and polish.
I haven't got an electric polisher, but was planning to use good irish elbow grease, but have now found out that a polisher might be required...

1) Can this all be done by hand?
2) What can be used to remove sanding marks(3000grit-wet)?
3) I have already applied the paint, so no going back now!!!
4) Yes, i'm a fool but i'm gonna try diggin upwards for a while!
5) Is it good, or a waste of time to try polishing out sanding marks before applying the lacquer? or would the lacquer hide the marks?
6) I havent sanded anything yet, i have yet to make that mistake!

any help appreciated,
tomas

Short answer, not easily. You'd need a machine polisher to get rid of the sand marks!

Although if you got a fairly abrasive polish (meant for a machine) and really went at it, it may work

Them results look good.

Did you just use one touchup pen and then wetsand??
What kind of polisher did you use, was it a rotary or a dual action one?? and what kind of pad did you use??
What kind of wetsand paper did you use??

I have a black metallic paint on mine and was thinking of doing what you have done.

Thanks
