Yes I have also been 12 years, it was changed a while back as far as I am aware? Anyone want to clarify this?

Car is now back and the timing belt and tensioner have been changed. I asked about the engine check light and they told me that they plugged it in but nothing had been logged, so not a major engine issue. He continued to waffle on about a valve that opens when sat on tick over and that it may have gotten stuck for a split second and caused the light to come on. He then told me that I should just keep an eye on it.

IF you want it clarified have a look in your manual, tells you everything in there,

And as for the light coming on and him sayin it was nothing, think he is talking pish! it dont come on for no reason and it will log it? what software did he use? was it Vagcom?

I have no idea, they just said "we will plug it in and have a look" so who knows :S

I was a bit unsure about it really, but I will keep an eye on it and will go straight back if it comes on again :)

I think the 12 year body warranty is only effective after a certain date of manufacture. Though I cant actually remember when this took effect.
