http://www.ilexa.co.uk and http://www.gendan.co.uk are 2 UK suppliers.

To get the mph on the display just go into 17-instruments and go into long coding and change the region from UK to Australia. Don't feel tempted to pick one of the other options. All have issues like the US makes all mpg calculations in US gallons, and the Saudi setting gives a speed warning you cant disable at 74 mph or something similar.

As for the rear lights, it's in 09- central electrics. It's the option that relates to parking lights I can't remember off hand as my vag com laptop is at work, but I'll update tomorrow.

The rain sensor fitted to mine does not have dusk sensor built in so would need a different part. Is there any way that vagcom could just be used to enable coming/leaving home lights when you lock and unlock the car without the dusk sensor?

Wonder if i can sweet talk my dealer lol
Going to ask dealer if they will do this as they did auto door lock/unlock.
See the auto door unlock/lock. did it take much persuasion and what did it cost? I might try and get this done. :)

Sorry I got this wrong the sensor built into the screen of my Polo looks identical to the sensor on my Golf which has auto lights  Perhaps it's just a new switch and a reprogram to enable auto coming/leaving home lights? Can any one confirm if the dusk sensor is built into the rain sensor as I think it is?

i cant find even find Australia listed :? i think i was in the wrong menu

Guide

Go to 17-Instruments and look under Coding, then (IIRC) on the first page, there is a drop down list of countries (it will currently be set as UK) change it to Australia, this is all you need VCDS for.

Then on the car's maxidot go to:

MFD

SETTINGS
Units,
"Consu/distance" change this back to mpg (GB), mi (as it defaults to 1/100km, km),

then

SETTINGS
"MFD data" and make sure the box for Digit.speed is ticked

then

SETTINGS
and unticked the "ALT.speed dis." box (this will remove the KPH speed and replace it with the outside temp display)
