Thanks guys!
Am after some new or mint genuine VW rubber floor mats and new headlight protectors if anyone has any or knows where to get them!
Also want a 9N3 GTI handbrake lever, but can' find any on ebay and £50 odd at the dealers is quite pricey!

It's now in the body-shop having a few little paint bits sorted out-the front bumper trim had an area of scraped off on the passenger side corner and some light scuffs, the rear spoiler is being resprayed because of some paint blisters, a tiny dent is being removed in the driver's side arch, the boot handle is being resprayed and the separate oblong pieces on the roof rails (is this where you fit roof rails?) are being resprayed as 3 of them had bubbled up a bit. Should be picking it up on Wednesday!

I wet-vaxxed the interior even though it looked clean and this is what came out:
Front cap piece on the passenger side door handle( has the wing mirror adjuster on the drivers side)
White led rear number plate lights:
Mk 6 Golf etc light switch:
New light bulbs for main beam and fogs:
New aerial base rubber seal:
to replace this one!:
More to come soon!

Re: Aquavalver's new GTI-now with pics!
Fitted white led side lights-you can see the difference with one fitted on the left and the standard one on the right:
Cleaned the front indicators up-left hand one is cleaned, right hand just about to do.
Re-fitted with chrome style indicator bulbs to get rid of the orange like in this pic:
Now looks like this:
New door handles and window switch surround fitted:
Bought a 2nd hand set of mud-flaps for the rear ones as couldn't find new ones:
Now cleaned up:
New carbon-fibre tax-disc holder:
More to come soon!

Looks good
You shouldnt need to use those resistor packs for the rear number plate lights if you didnt already know as they are for can bus equipped cars with bulb monitoring

Yeah, that's what I thought. The light units did't fit too tight though, so I put a touch of clear silicone sealant around.alexperkins wrote:Looks good

Cool
I need to get my hands on one of these wet-vax machines. Mine could do with it.

Re: Aquavalver's new GTI-now with pics!
I was a bit dubious as to how well they'd work before I got one, but now I do it on every interior I buy and my god, the dirt that comes out sometimes! Sometimes it's like a sludge at the bottom! I bought the cleaning fluid from ebay and then put a small amount of it in an old spray bottle for any little areas that need doing now & then. I also wipe the damp seats down with an old light coloured towel as you can see the dirt coming off on the towel and that will tell you how clean it is and if it will need doing more/again. If the interior is pretty dirty in the first place, it's best to let it dry and then do it again.alexperkins wrote:Cool

I must have done around 20 or so different interiors with it and use the dry part of it to vacuum the car as the 12V car vacuum cleaners are not that powerful! Think it cost about £72. Thought it would be worth it after paying a valeters once years ago and it still wasn't fully clean once it had dried.

Re: Aquavalver's new GTI-now with pics!
That may be a bit of a logistical issue!
Re: Aquavalver's new GTI-now with pics!
Your paintwork is immaculate mate! Absolutely stunning. I use poorboys too. Did you put anything over the top of it?
Also, where did you get the rear number plate lights from?
I know this sounds stupid but I'm not used to the lights on these cars. I used to have a Saxo so changing a bulb was as easy as anything but on these I'm not too sure. Any advice? Looking at changing the sidelights too. Cheers
