Well I am not an electrician and my knowledge about this stuffs is limited but I supposed since batteries are connected in series they should charge/discharge together.
I checked them both when they arrived but maybe a battery was defective or maybe I damaged It inadvertently when I soldered contacts the pbc!
Anyway new battery is coming and I'll give siren an other chance to work!

Hi guys, last update for this story.
Unfortunatelly I have to comunicate that even If both batteries had been replaced with new one the error on VCDS did not disappear.
For this reason I will replace the whole horn unit soon. Anyway the horn continues to works correctly as far as I tested it.

It was worth trying though - just one thing maybe a stupid thought, will these new batteries not need time to charge up before the fault can be erased?
Sorry if you have given the batteries time to recharge - did you check that there is a supply getting through to this box to keep these back up batteries charged up, or maybe the built in charger has been trashed by the previous batteries failing, or a protective fuse?

Hello guys, sorry for late reply but I forgot to subscribe to the topic.
Thanks iichel I just thought replacing the battery could be a cheaper solution than replacing the whole unit.
Never give up until you have tried all the ways you can!

Yes I thought that but after a long drive and some weeks batteries should be fully charged but error remains.

Since batteries are good I may only suppose there is something wrong in the PCB but I should ask an electronic technician because my knowledge about electric components is very limited.

Hi all. Sorry for reviving an old thread. Does anyone know what voltage comes to the siren signal wire to activate the alarm? I am getting 0.5v on the signal wire when alarm is in idle state (not triggered) and 0.8v when I trigger the alarm. How can I test the siren when it is removed from the car.

Have no idea about the voltages or how to test the syren outside the car.
What kind of issue do you have? Anyway I think will be easier to just replace it.
When I tried to fix mine by replacing the batteries I've spent money for nothing.

Do you lock your car via cobra remote or via central locking? It seems that both options activate the alarm?
