For me a res delete sounds way too loud. Mine is pre GPF and with the DSG in S, the sound is pretty nice with modest pops and bangs. I agree the DSG in S keeps revving too long, but mine is adapted, so it gears up sooner in S and later in D. So the driveability in S is ok, although I seldom do it. Just when I feel like having some more sound and P&B's.

So was it a straight swap - pipe for the middle section with no cutting or welding, just unclamping and reclamping to the front and rear sections? How much did you pay and did you fit yourself?
Sorry I havn't gotten a chance to answer you before.
Did it myself, but rented a car lift at a DIY-garage.
The exhaust is one piece from the GPF/OPF and back.
Meaning you have to measure and cut the centre resonator using a chain pipe-cutter tool. The kit came with a clamp for fastening it to the back part of the exhaust. You can reuse the clamp that connects the exhaust to the GPF/OPF. Had to purchase some exhaust paste/cement to seal the parts back up.
I bought the replacement pipe on ebay from this guy £65:

I can't find the part right now, but maybe give him a message and ask if he plans on making them again.
If you plan on making this part yourself, note that the diameter of the GPF/OPF is slightly larger than the rest of the exhaust.

Thanks for the update. I think my GTI+ is going shortly for the family practicalities of a much bigger car, so I'd better leave it alone.

How pliable the human mind; soon a Milltek non resonated catback exhaust system will be fitted on my pre GPF GTI. I realised that the sound in all those videos on the net is generated by high revving and/or driving in S. While the sound when driving "normal" is fine, as is the sound from inside. I hope to get my soundaktor deactivated via VCDS soon.

Not sure if this helps anyone.
What is this on the right on the exhaust? Looking at it from underneath the car.

That's a rubber exhaust hanger. Holds the exhaust on place while also allowing it to flex.

I had my GTI+ with OPF new since April 2019
Replaced the air filter with a pipercross filter and did a resonator (middle silencer) delete.
Sounds so much better and really enjoyed it.. sadly due to some financial issues, car will be up for sale now

Hi,
So I own a 1.0 tsi 115hp version. I have a couple of questions regarding exhaust. How do I know if I have GPF? Does anybody else have any sport exhaust installed with this type of engine? Does anybody know if any other manufacturer, other than Supersprint, make aftermarket exhaust for this type of engine?
