Righto, the Mk3 offset is et38 correct?
Does anyone know for sure what the offset is on the Mk5 GTi BBS wheels are? If they are different, can you tell me what size spacers I will need if I need some? And if I do, I will also need to get longer studs?
Any other related information regarding this would be appreciated! Thanks.

Re: Wheel offsets!
ET 43 - so they tuck in further but IIRC they are a wider rim? so actually look just the same as std......DelGT wrote:Righto, the Mk3 offset is et38 correct?

Your existing studs or wheel bolts should be fine
Space em by all means if you want to fill the arches but it's very hard to get spacers these days and 5mm is the max you can buy off the shelf and of course then you will need longer bolts

How wide are they? Youll be ok if theyre only 6" wide. Squarebacks sometimes come with et45 offset wheels (all mk2 hatches are et45 and some mk3 GT hatches have 4.5Jx13" ET45 zolder alloys.) So ET43 should present no problems. I run 6x14 ET45s on my GT and I have no problems with scrubbage or anything, (if they were ET38 id have a bit of bother with the rear arches)

What Size wheels have you got now - Rim WidthDelGT wrote:So, I shouldn't have any scrubbing then with that different offset? And I won't definately need spacers?
What size tyres are they fitted with
What offset do you have
What's the inside clearance at the narrowest place
Whats the clearnace to the arch fully loaded in the rear
whats the tyre size on the splities or are you planning to fit
Answer all of these and I can tell you if they'll rub or not - otherwise I'm just guessing
SOD it I'm gonna write a guide on how to get a wheel upgrade right......

I'll have to find out how wide they are. The tyres fitted are 195/45/15's if that helps determine the rim widthGareth_GT_Hatch wrote:How wide are they? Youll be ok if theyre only 6" wide. well it narrows it down to 6" wide or over. anything bigger than 6.5" and youre liable to get problems, especially on the back with that offset. but if theyre 6" you should get away with it.DelGT wrote:I'll have to find out how wide they are.
