temp on a 1.3 cl

Post by Gray6634 »

hey all

just wondering what is the normal running temp of a 1.3 cl 1990. mine used to run at 70oC but lately it has been running at 90oC + which i think is abit high. I have changed the thermostat and replaced the coolant. I dont think it is the water pump because the air i get out of my heater is red hot and if the pump was bust it wouldnt pump hot water up to my heater matrix and i would only have cold air. I have been thinking blocked rad as when i have my heater on the temp holds at about 90oC but when i put it to cold it starts to rise to worrying levels. Any help would be cool !!!!!!!!!!!!!! thanks ....

IIRC, 85-90 degrees is the 'normal' operating temperature, so maybe it was over-cooling before?

90degrees is what it should run at. I replaced the thermostat in my saloon last night because it was running too low.

yeah, like driving a ford or something........ :)

85-90 when idling, 80-85 when going up the motorway?

mine used to sit at 60-75 degrees when the thermostat was knackered
