Testing A Possible Faulty Starter Motor

before i spend £90 on a new one how can i make sure it is the starter motor and not something else?
where is the starter motor on a mkIV cause i havent a clue lol,i also wana test my power from my battery to my starter motor if anyone knows how to check that,that would be a great help

ok i've seen a starter on ebay but i dont have a clue about them,can i get anyone or does it have to be specific?

will this one fit my 1.4 8v polo?

i've tried searching for bosch part numbers and vdub etc,but cannot find a thing

Long shot but I will be at South Mimms services - not too far from you!!! between 11am and 1230 tommorrow - I'll take a spare starter motor I have for a 1.4 8V if you want to borrow it just turn up and look for a big group of Senators, Carltons, Omegas and Lotus Carlton/Omegas
