Rust on my Mk4

Post by sony »

popped out to Halfords and got myself all the rust kit you need. Considering I've never done it before its quite a scary thing to do. The amazing thing is is that the car is quite mint, no rust anywhere else. But the rust in just beneath the boot window and it looks a mess. I've used sandpaper to remove the excess rust , and then applied the rust remover, I've got to pop downstairs every half hour or so to stick a new coating of the stuff- I'm nearly 2 hours into it and cant yet tell and amazing difference, but hey lets wait and see! Anyone else tried this?

ive used a product called krust before was pretty good as long as the rust hasnt gone all the way through, halfords also do touch up kits if its a small area can sometimes turn out bad , but i guess its all better than seeing rust
