Hi all, i have 17" rimz on my 99 Treg polo n when i turn either side the rimz rub the inner arch not bad but at 106quid a tyre it does hurt!

i was wonderin if ne1 here had dis problem n wot dey did to resolve. I was finkin of lowerin it with stiffer springs dat way the body wont roll dat much n in theory it shudnt rub.

for 16" u have to use tyres size = 195/40/r16
but for 17"s u have to look for something smaller 195/??/r17 even theres no 35 or 30 with 195 and 205 will be bad too
so u have to look for tyres that fitt with them :D

lowerin it !!! its a bad idea with 17"s

Same problem have I with 195/50/15, car is lowered (front 60mm, rear 40mm) and it is horrible. I find out it's because ET is too smal (30 or something). When I put on my mate's rims (195/50/15) whit larger ET (35) it was waaaaay better and didn't rub at all...

You will need 195/40/17 and ET 35.

I know some one with this set up and it is all most ok.

and also take off the inner liners and cut away the problem area.

thankx to all, the tyres i got at the moment are 195/40/17 Pirelli cost round £450. the ofset is ET35 and i mean their not that bad but sometimes the rubbing gets to me! dont want to get rid of these rims cox the only set in four stud!!!

i was finkin of lowerin it coz the rubbin problem is near the bottom of the arch, if i lower it the wheel will go in the arch more and it should stop the rubbin!

duno after spendin so much on jus tyres its hard to see em rub if u c wr im comin from! Myf to for 14" bbs cross-spoke's n lower it to the ground.

thanx agen.

those wheels are gorgeous.! :)

try arch rolling, the good solution to this!.. better than spending lots of money on ultra low profile tyres.
wont be that expensive for arch rolling, cheaper than wasting the tyres at a superfast rate!
