im not 100% on the original hp of the 16v but here are some allys to look down
exaust
air filter
cams
"power box" best 5 wires i ever branched into the ecu loom
ecu
under drive kit

you will probably not need all of these to get to 100 hp but if you go a little further whats the harm :D

if you would like to go to a little further still:

bore out the block to a higher displacement
port and posish the head
forced induction
etc

however you can make you car faster by ghanging the final gear ratio to make the box "shorter" i.e. less difference in between the gears

most of these are general ways of squeezing more power out of any engine

Not an easy conversion.

You will at least have to have custom made engine mounts, driveshafts and exhaust Manifold/downpipes.

Thats just the mechanical side, the elctrical part will be hard. For that you will have to use the 1.4 16v ECU and engine wiring loom and find a way of mating that to the standard Mk3 loom or use parts of the Mk4 loom aswell.

It will cost a lot of money to do and it would be far easier to drop in a G40 engine which requires no modification to fit. Plus you would have more power as standard than the 1.4 16v engine. Also G40's are easier and cheaper to modify than the 1.4 16v engines.

G40 should be a lot easier, right? Ever done a conversion before? How hard is it *really*? It's probably different on a Mk3, but still...

Good choice going the G40 route.

Fitting one into a Mk3 is easy, they drop straight in.

well the mk3 conversion is around 11hours work to do.

yeh and i'm going to go to pitstop developments instead of jabba as they specialise in the g40 lump :D
