6n2 rear bumper on 6n????

hi guys

will the bumper from a 2001 polo fit a 1996 polo?

are there any mods needed?

also does the tailgate fit aswell?
i no the rear clusters do with minor modding, but im curious now.....

AFAIK the tailgate is curved outwards slightly, and the bumper is shaped differently for sure. Compare pics of the Mk4 and 5 where the bumper meets the rear quarter panel. It's too much work to get right, most people just stick to modding the original bits (shaving the rear panel for instance).

along the same lines...would a 6N2 spoiler with brakelight fit a later 98+ Mk4 6N? I'm guessing the tailgate lips are present on both...Is the size of the top of the tailgates be the same?

i went to vw this morning and parked next to one.....

you can definatly tell the difference when they are next to each other.

im just gonna stick to the 16v rear bumper..... do you know where i can get one quite cheap? slightly damaged, etc?

I have tried a 2000 gti rear bumper on my 6N, its way off. Would be alot of paintstaking work customizing it. Nothing seemed to be the same shape or fit.
