Next Audi A2 to be on Polo platform

Well, despite my believing that the A2 was not being continued in any form, along comes this article:

saying it's going to be built off the next polo platform (we're currently on PQ24, which is five years old now). Colour me surprised.

I can understand the logic of it, as it was the A2's aluminium that was making Audi a loss on every one sold, but basing it on the polo platform is going to mean a significant size increase. Mind you, look how how much bigger the MK2 A-Class is.
