Post by Revis »

Right, well basically im refurbing these wheels myself.

I was going to have a polished outer lip, innner lip and dish and then paint the spokes and centre. But as i was sanding them today i remembered one has a chunk out of it, see pics below

Apologies for the poor pics. So basically the one with the chunk im thinking will need to go to a wheel place to be fixed, but if it's welded is it possible to still polish it and it look ok, or am i going to have to just paint the outer lip on them all?

looks like it will have to be welded  As far as if it will polish, it should be OK but depending on the quality of the repair will depend if there will be marks when its finished.

Remember tho, if you are going to paint sections of the wheels, that you will need an etch primer that is designed for Aluminium. The Aircraft Industry use a primer/corrosion inhibitor called Alochrome, but what the equivelent on the high street is I don't know :?
