b) they don't instill the same fear of God in those they catch.

Makes you wonder why:

a) the police over here don't bother with this sort of stuff; and

OK they still do - or did when I was in the force but

- our law is a difficult when it comes to entrapment (americanism but everyone understands what I mean)

- so as a result you never ever ever see the cases come to court

what it does do

- it gives you the right to search the little toe rags pad and then you find lots of stolen stuff that you can match up with crimes and you charge him for those not the what you caught him doing and no-one ever knows about the rat trap* he'll tell his mates but hopefully you get enough to keep him out of general circulation

and b) they don't instill the same fear of God in those they catch.

Cos for every one you catch there are 30 others up lined up ready

PS Rat trap* Hot hatch/saloon with a bit of internal rewiring/reworking

- Must be no sunroof - can't have him getting out of it

- Electric Windows (Anti smash film on the external surfaces of all toughened glass - laminated doesn't need it) - as above

- No internal boot release and rear seats bolted in place - no escape that way

- doors apparently unlocked but shut (Equivilent of child locks on the front)

- Nice flash head unit and 6 x 9's in the rear shelf (bait for a smash and grabber or a strip it down for spares)

- Nice big DVD Player box on the rear seats (contents 1 house brick and lots of poly chips) (bait for an oportunist thief)

- Whole car bait for a joy rider or proff car thief - come on lads come and have a play

It will hotwire nicely (easy as pie) but the fuel pump is turned off remotely and an unmarked pursuit vehicle can follow and kill it or allow it to carry on by pressing one or other of two button and if it goes out of range it has a 5 mins period before it coughs and dies

Worked really well large county like Norfolk we just moved it around from town to town
