Sensor problem?

Post by metz »

Hoping one of you guys can shed some light as to which sensor i need....

car idles ok most of the time but revs can drop and rise a little, petrol consumption seems to be up a little and when i unplug the blue sender the revs drop instead of rising.

Been told it could be the throttle sensor or the lambda or the blue sender itself.

anyone had simalar problems?

if the car drives ok then i would point the finger away from the throttle valve pot. Its probably the lambda probe. Try unplugging it, see if the car runs better without it.

car was juddering at a constant speed but fine under load, pulled dizzy cap off and a lump of plastic fell off one of the contacts (no crack in the casing though) so im off to replace it today..see if that makes a difference.

Like I said on the 'phone it points towards it being lambda issues if it's okay on full throttle, but could still be the good ole blue temp sender with the hump. If you still wanted to pop over this week for me to have a look that's fine though, think I have a spare blue temp sender as well as AFMs and TBs etc. to try.
