Headlight Upgrades

Was wondering which bulbs people had upgraded to, has anybody got the philips blue vision ultra or the osram silverstar? I am looking to get bulbs with the whitest brightest beam without being illegal and without being too expensive! any reccomendations? pics would be usefull!

I've gone with the 8000K HIDs H7 bulbs (dipped beam). If you want to upgrade your main beam you need H1 bulbs...

Not so sure about 'cheap' stuff tbh as the HIDs I got off ebay came to around $300 for the bulbs and wiring harness...

Planning to install next Monday and I should have some pics by then

I thought about getting HID's but I cant afford them. Im just looking to see which are the best replacement bulbs poeple reccomend for around Â£30.

some bulbs just improve the color light (whiter, slightly blue light)

and the field of vision , or the area it covers is actually worse

What bulbs are fitted to the car in the picture? I dnt relly like the sidelights, they look too blue. Are they the philips ones you get free from powerbulbs?

the headlights are the ice blue 'H7' and the sidelights are leds, but lets u see the original color (fog lights) compared to the upgraded headlights

On my 106 when i put the blue look lights in they looked awesome but didn't improve field of vison, like Aaron said

Ive tried all sorts of bulbs, i find the philips bulbs give the best improvement in vision

anyone find the 9n bulbs a bastard to change!?

my offside one still isnt in correctly cos i lost a screw!

ask vw parts for a screw, they told me to get one of those screws i would have to buy a whole headlight unit!!!

bahhhhh hahahahaha no chance. il just continue to blind other drivers

9n headlights are ok to change if u have small hands... screw?

I had a VW tech dude to change one of mine!

Luckily i know him so he did it outside of work for a tenner including bulb!

I couldn't do it! I have the worst cause senario apparently too. The bigger battery and fuel filter behind the headlights!

at thet ive got 1x8000k xenon and a 6000k and the 6000k is deinatly the more cutting beam plus the 8000k bulbs are very blue when you look at them. VAG parts also do xenon kits if your looking.

couple regarding the beam sorry for the size but look for the tree on the
left

Phillips blue vision

8000k xenon

this test was done by having one lamp fitted with hid and the other incndessant
what we did was block one lamp with a clipboard and then snapped,
then without moving the camera balnk the other headlight out instead.

the HID was aimed slightly high at this time but there is an incredible
amount of light for a 35w light source that cuns cooler and is stable to
about 8v (stopped sub dip which is when the amp pulls so much power that the headlights dim.
all in all an awsome pruduct. if you want any

How much would that cost?
