Auto amp on and off help pls!

Right, need a bit of help. I'm wiring my sub from the rear speakers as i want to keep the standard unit.

Need to know how to wire the amp in to turn off when i switch the car off and vice versa, to stop it draining my battery.

Anyone know how to wire it in? I have this http://www.installdr.com/Harnesses/VW-Wiring.pdf but its for 90's model.

All help appreciated!

so the amp takes the output to your rear speakers as an input?

there will be a remote wire - which tells the amp whether your HU is on or not. I take it you can find this on your amp?

you need to run a wire from the HU to the amp from the HU connector wire "K"

you can test this is the same in your car with a voltmeter (very handy so buy one if you haven't got one already), it will read 0v when the ignition is off and switch to 12v when you turn on.

yes, that's the one I was referring to - best to double check the early and late models are the same tho. voltmeters are handy!
