Replacing standard factory Sony CD unit on a Mk4 -advice pls

Post by mmh »

Hi,

I'm replacing a standard Sony CD unit that came with the Mk4 when bought new with a Pioneer MP3 CD unit.

Is it hard to do as I've never installed any ICE.

Is it just a case of:

Remove Sony CD unit with ISO removal keys and unplug.

Take out the old cage and install cage from Pioneer.

Plug everything back in and push the unit back in to lock in place.

My question is: Will the connectors from the car just fit directly to the back of the new Pioneer?

I'm hoping to avoid any wire cutting and splicing.

Thanks, Mo

Should do, thats all I've ever done, only thing I've had to do is buy an adaptor lead, but if you already have an aftermarket H/U then you shouldn't need anything, best thing to do is whip it out and see.
