car cutting out!

Post by badboypolo »

my girlfriend had the car last night and it cut out twice, she thought she had just stalled it so we just left it at that, the she was coming up from work today and was turning into a street which is quite a steep hill and it cut out again! only this time the oil light came on and a beeping sound. I just checked the oil and when I looked at the oil rod there was some oil just on the end of it I think it could be doing with somemore but would this cause it to cut out? :?

i'm not sure if it could cause a cut out but it can cause a completely screwed engine... so i'd get topping it up pronto!

some cars have a system where they cut it if the oil is too low, to avoid the engine getting trashed...maybe 6N2's have this

right had a run about in it,she didnt stall it, it seems to happen when I put the clutch down and change gear to turn a corner and the revs just drop real fast below 10 then it cuts out but when I bring the clutch back up it kicks back in. doesnt happen all the time just sometimes. :? any ideas??

Just for reference, you can find the throttle body internals, by removing the airbox sat on top of it, if you going to take it out, make sure to buy new gaskets too
